Come explore Stonewall Peak and Paso Picacho picnic area with the Aggies. We will meet up at Paso Picacho Day Use area in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park at 10am and walk across street to hike Stonewall Peak. Paso Picacho Day Use Area
Day use visitors may use the picnic areas provided at the campgrounds for $10 per vehicle. The receipt is good for the entire park for the day. The picnic areas offer tables, restrooms, and barbecues. Fire is not allowed anywhere except in the developed picnic areas and campgrounds. The park is located approximately 50 miles east of San Diego on Highway 79. It is 15 miles south of Julian.

Stonewall Peak Hike
This is a 3.5 mile out and back, elevation gain is about 1000 feet with lots of switchbacks, suitable for all skill levels. It takes approximately 2 hours to hike. At the top you are rewarded with 360 degree view. This excursion is of gentle switchbacks through canopies of black oaks, sycamores, and other coniferous trees. Great views of Anza Borrego, the Laguna Mountains, (on clear days) the Salton Sea, and 30+ miles to Palomar Mountains are the reward for all who make the ascent.
